RUMOUR: Nintendo May Still Have Two More Wii U Ports to Release for the Nintendo Switch
We may have some potentially good news for Nintendo Switch owners, as new information that has been doing the rounds lately seems to suggest that more Wii U ports may be already underway — which is definitely some exciting news.
The information comes from Nintendo insider Emily Rogers who — in a recent post on Resetera — claims that two, at the very least, unannounced Wii U ports for the Nintendo Switch are currently in the works at Nintendo, and that these may even release as soon as this year.
According to Rogers, this could be a way for Nintendo to help fill out their release calendar this year, since the only major release that they have announced is Animal Crossing: New Horizons; expected to launch on the 20th of March.
Now, the fact that Nintendo may still have a few more Wii U games that they want to port to the Nintendo Switch could be considered a no-brainer — especially since the Wii U was a commercial flop, and the Nintendo Switch has been a massive success; pretty much since day one, no less.
Star Fox: Zero and Super Mario 3D World are amongst the Wii U games that are the most obvious choices for Nintendo to port to the Switch, although there are also some other titles like Yoshi's Wooly World, or even the HD versions of The Legend Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess — especially when considering that the sequel to Breath of the Wild has already been announced. We'll just have to wait and see.
