Ubisoft's MIGHT AND MAGIC Series Is Back in an All-New Auto Chess Title for up to 100 Players
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
Category: Turn-Based Strategy Games
While it seemed that Ubisoft had totally forgotten about the beloved Might and Magic franchise, the French publisher has just announced a brand-new entry in the award-winning series — and fans of the so-called auto chess genre are in for a treat.
According to Ubisoft, the newly revealed Might & Magic: Chess Royale is "the first massive real-time 100 players autobattler." The rules of the game are quite simple — you basically take part in a more advanced online chess, with one main objective — being the last man standing and defeating other 99 combatants.
Although it's not a traditional turn-based strategy or classic role-playing game, it is set in the evergreen Might and Magic universe, which means that you will be able to command well-known heroes and units from the New World Computing-created world.
At its core, Might & Magic: Chess Royale is a mobile title, but it is also coming to PC on January 30, 2020.
Chess players know that forward thinking and making quick decisions are key to winning any game, so it shouldn't be surprising that with Chess Royale, Ubisoft will try to recreate the magic of playing chess in real life — as each multiplayer session shouldn't be longer than 10 minutes.
