SNIPER GHOST WARRIOR: CONTRACTS 2 May Launch in 2020; CI Games Is Betting Its Future on the FPS Series
Between the Lords of the Fallen 2 drama and unexpected underperformance of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, the team at CI Games has had a rough couple of years, but it seems that the Polish developer has finally found its lucrative niche.
The latest entry in the Sniper Ghost Warrior series, titled Contracts, is not only the best-reviewed entry in the series — currently sitting at a perfectly fine 70/100 score on Metacrtic — but also a production that's been selling pretty well, especially in comparison to the problematic third instalment.
In a recent interview with Bankier.pl, the studio's CEO Marek Tymiński revealed that over 250,000 copies of Contracts had been sold since its November launch — as the acclaimed shooter seemingly maintains momentum, unlike the game's panned predecessor.
Furthermore, Tymiński believes that CI Games is able to publish new Sniper games at regular intervals. That's not all, as the CEO's main goal at the moment is to release a sequel to Contracts before the end of 2020.
"Since December, part of the team has been working on Tactical Shooter 2, which is a continuation of the Sniper Ghost Warrior series," the CEO explained. "We've got many things done, so the premiere of the next entry may happen by the end of 2020."
Furthermore, CI Games has signed a deal under which the studio's new business partner is to establish the series' roadmap — even beyond the upcoming Contracts 2. The main team at CI Games will join the mysterious developer by the end of the year and help that company shape the sniping franchise's future.
Fulfill contracts that offer clear objectives with a fixed monetary reward and options to complete bonus challenges for payouts. With hundreds of ways to take down a wide range of targets, Contracts offers precise, strategic sniping gameplay at its absolute best.
Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam and GOG).
