Sony's PS4-Exclusive HORIZON ZERO DAWN Will Reportedly Be Released on PC This Year
While we've already heard rumors that Guerrilla Games' PlayStation 4-exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn might be coming to PC, Kotaku's Jason Schreier reveals that the acclaimed game's port will actually arrive on gaming computers later this year.
If Schreier's sources tell the truth, it would be a fascinating development — one that may be potentially teasing a major shift in thinking at Sony — as the Japanese company has been avoiding releasing its biggest PS4-exclusive titles — like Marvel's Spider-Man, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End or God of War — on other platforms for a good while now.
Quite interestingly, Death Stranding is also a timed PS4-exclusive game that's coming to PC in early summer.
Coincidentally, both titles are powered by Guerrilla's Decima Engine — which suggests that porting games running on the Dutch studio's in-house engine to PC is not an incredibly complicated (or inviable) task.
As a reminder, Zero Dawn has managed to sell over 10 million copies since its launch in February 2017.
Although Schreier is a reporter with a proven track record, activating your hype engines may be a mistake — as Sony has not revealed any official plans to publish a PC edition of Horizon Zero Dawn as of yet.
Horizon Zero Dawn is an exhilarating new action role playing game exclusively for the PlayStation 4 System, developed by the award winning Guerrilla Games, creators of PlayStation’s venerated Killzone franchise. Take on the role of skilled hunter Aloy as you explore a vibrant and lush world inhabited by mysterious mechanized creatures.
Horizon Zero Dawn is currently available for PlayStation 4.
