THE BATMAN Writer Mattson Tomlin Will Pen the Script for 20th Century Fox's MEGA MAN Movie
You may think that developing two major movies simultaneously — Constantin Film's Monster Hunter and Resident Evil reboot — should be more than enough to satisfy Capcom producers — but it couldn't be further from the truth.
Resident Evil and Monster Hunter are not the only Capcom properties that are on the way to the big screen, as a movie based on Mega Man is still in the works — as it was first announced back in October 2018.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Mega Man screenplay will be penned by Mattson Tomlin.
Although he's best known for niche films (Solomon Grundy) and a bunch of shorts (including Persuasion and Dream Lover) the fact that he's a co-writer on The Batman might elevate his career to new heights.
Tomlin has already confirmed the information, and you can check out his reaction to the news down below.
Mega Man has been in active development at 20th Century Fox for quite some time now, but the studio's new kids-friendly management will definitely try to finish the flick as fast as possible if the upcoming Sonic movie is a hit with the worldwide audience.
Mega Man will be directed and co-written by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, the duo responsible for Paranormal Activity 3 and Paranormal Activity 4. The movie's release date has not been revealed yet.
