MORTAL KOMBAT LEGENDS: SCORPION’S REVENGE Will Be Rated R, Ed Boon Has Officially Announced
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak

You can officially forget about watching the upcoming Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge animated movie with your kids — as Co-Creator of Mortal Kombat Ed Boon has announced on Twitter that the flick will be rated R.
In case you're not familiar with the American movie rating system, the R stands for "Restricted" — which means that a movie with said rating "contains some adult material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their young children with them."
Practically speaking, an R-rated movie usually features "strong language and violence, nudity for sexual purposes, and drug abuse" — content appropriate only for adult audiences over the age of 17.
Given that we're talking about a movie based on Mortal Kombat, the news shouldn't be too surprising.
Boon's recent revelations will definitively make fans of the video game series happy — as the R rating gives hope that Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge will feature some gruesome animated fatalities.
Scorpion's Revenge will debut in 2020; directed by Ethan Spaulding (Batman: Assault on Arkham, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis), with the script written by Jeremy Adams (Supernatural, Young Justice).
