JOURNEY TO THE SAVAGE PLANET With This Cute Launch Trailer for Typhoon Studios’ First Project

WarCraft III: Reforged is not the only major video game that launches today, as Typhoon Studios’ first-person adventure game, titled Journey to the Savage Planet, is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, exclusively through the Epic Games Store.
Sitting at a 75/100 score on Metacritic, Journey to the Savage Planet is not only a big surprise, but also a title that has a shot at becoming a sleeper hit — following in the footsteps of A Way Out and Sea of Thieves.
Considering that Journey to the Savage Planet is the first production created by the team at Typhoon Studios, the fact that it's receiving mostly positive reviews is great news for Creative Director Alex Hutchinson — who left Ubisoft Montreal in 2017 after a series of disagreements over the shape of Pioneer. That title is returning soon as Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Quarantine, but it won't have much to do with the original.
While the old Pioneer is dead and gone, its main ideas and gameplay mechanics are alive and well in Journey to the Savage Planet — which basically is a spiritual successor to Hutchinson's last project at Ubisoft. Just like Pioneer, Journey to the Savage Planet focuses on preserving a profound sense of exploration and discovery, rather than asking the player to kill everything and everyone on the horizon.
Celebrating Journey to the Savage Planet's launch, the studio has released a new trailer, so check it out now:
Welcome to the Pioneer Program! In this upbeat & colorful, first-person adventure game you play as the newest recruit to Kindred Aerospace, which proudly touts its rating as the 4th Best interstellar exploration company. Dropped onto an uncharted planet with little equipment and no real plan, you must explore, catalog alien flora and fauna and determine if this planet is fit for human habitation. Onward to adventure! Good luck – and mind the goo!
Journey to the Savage Planet is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via the Epic Games Store).
