The renowned creators of Dreamfall Chapters have proudly announced that their next big thing — a Fjord Noir mystery set in 1920s Norway, titled Draugen — will be finally coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 21st of February.
If you're not familiar with Draugen, it released on PC last May to generally favourable reviews, sitting at a pretty sweet 73/100 score on Metacritic. According to critics, Draugen tells a smart, even if thematically unsettling and difficult to process, story — as the Red Thread Games-developed title tasks the player with uncovering the secrets behind the sudden disappearance of the main protagonist's sister.
Red Thread Games' Draugen is available on PC right now (via Steam and GOG), currently priced at $19.99.
Make no mistake, Draugen is not your standard walking simulator akin to Dear Esther or The Long Dark. As traveller Edward Charles Harden, you're always accompanied by his ward, Lissie. Together, they embark on a dangerous journey to the heart of an abandoned village to find the answers they're both seeking — even if they don't know it yet.
As revealed by the team at Red Thread Games, the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro versions of Draugen will feature plenty of much-needed graphical enhancements. Both ports will also include some bonus content, but the studio hadn't revealed any concrete details on the new additions at the time of this writing.
Draugen is a single-player, first-person Fjord Noir mystery set in 1920s Norway. Explore a picturesque coastal community in your search for your missing sister, accompanied by your gregarious and enigmatic young ward.
Draugen is currently available on PC (via Steam and GOG); coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 21, 2020.
