In an unexpected turn of events, The Bearded Ladies, the award-winning Swedish developers responsible for 2018's Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, have just announced a completely fresh tactical experience, titled Corruption 2029.
What's even more surprising, the all-new title will launch on the 17th of February and will be available exclusively on PC, via the Epic Games Store. Considering that the studio's Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is also playable on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, it's safe to say that Corruption 2029 will be ported to consoles one day, especially if it turns out to be a hit with PC players.
Just like the critical acclaimed Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, Corruption 2029 is heavily inspired by the long-running X-COM series. The upcoming project is set in a dystopian America in the not-so distant future. In the game, you will have to use your "tactical abilities" and "command a squad of heavily augmented ‘units’ deep into enemy territory" to discover and destroy the source of the titular corruption.
Taking into account that Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden was one of the most enjoyable sleeper hits of 2018, it's good to know that The Bearded Ladies are working hard to become the masters of their lucrative niche.
While we're waiting for new details on Corruption 2029, take a look at its announcement trailer down below:
