At is core, Liberation is a side-scroller, but the devil's in the details, as Atomic Wolf's second major project is an interactive dystopian comic book, merging the art of hand-drawn graphic novels with thrilling and intense action sequences.
IGN has released nearly ten minutes of never-before-seen Liberated gameplay footage, shedding a new light on the Warsaw-based development team's vision of a noir cyberpunk near-future, "where modern technology empowers government control and civil liberties are in decline."
According to Atomic Wolf, Liberated will try to put the spotlight on important real-world issues like "authoritarianism, social networks, facial recognition, fake news, citizen credit systems, government control and civil liberties."
Liberated hasn't even launched yet, but it has managed to win several prestigious awards all around the world, including Famitsu's TGS Indie Prize and Nordic Game's Discovery Contest. As a reminder, Liberated will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC at some point between April and June.
