Developer Team Ninja Has Confirmed That the Highly Anticipated NIOH 2 Has Officially Gone Gold
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
Category: NiOh 2
The wait is almost over, as the long-awaited sequel to 2017's NiOh is coming exclusively to PS4 in a month's time, giving fans of the so-called Souls-like genre the chance to embark on a dangerous journey during the Sengoku period of Japanese history.
While the game is right around the corner, Team Ninja announced today that the studio's next big thing has gone gold — which means that the project is set and ready to be released all around the world in the next few weeks.
NiOh 2 takes place 45 years before the main events of the first instalment. The prequel will introduce players to an all-new protagonist, who's half human and half Yokai (demon in English), which allows hit to to harness and use supernatural powers for a limited time, borrowing some gameplay mechanics from Capcom's Devil May Cry.
Given that NiOh 2 and DOOM: Eternal are the only two major games to launch in the first half of the year after a seemingly never-ending series of delayed video games, Team Ninja couldn't have asked for a better release window.
With NiOh 2 hitting stores next month, the first wave of reviews for the title should be with us relatively soon.
