Hideki Kamiya and PlatinumGames' Next Game Will Reportedly Be Inspired by VIEWTIFUL JOE

As revealed in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu, Director Hideki Kamiya is working on a completely fresh experience that will reportedly be strongly inspired by the aesthetics of PlatinumGames' Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101. The all-new project is apparently coming to PC and other "existing platforms."

The so-called Project GG will serve as the final entry in Kamiya's original superhero trilogy, featuring giant characters battling even bigger monsters. While the game is currently developed by a team of 15 people, Platinum Games will establish a 100-strong studio in Tokyo to continue the works on the title.

Chinese tech behemoth Tencent was interested in distributing Project GG, but Platinum seemingly believes that self-publishing its next few games is the right way to go, debuting with the port of The Wonderful 101.

Considering that Project GG and the PC and console versions of The Wonderful 101 are only two of the four new projects that are in development at PlatinumGames, it's hard not to admire the company's ambition.

As a reminder, the studio is also producing Bayonetta 3 for Nintendo and Babylon's Fall for Square Enix.
