Lightbulb Crew — the French studio responsible for 2017's free-to-play Dota 2-esque Games of Glory — is developing a new tactical role-playing game that will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in the coming months. In the recently announced Othercide, you'll take on the uneasy role of humanity's last hope.
Othercide will be published by Focus Home Interactive at some point this summer, allowing you to lead your own squad of the so-called Daughters into battle. In the turn-based strategy video game, you'll get to "explore a dying timeline and discover the secrets of the City and the Suffering bred within it."
As revealed by the studio, the game's combat is "an intricate dance of spectacular actions and counters."
In the Othercide universe, the Daughters echo "the greatest warrior to ever live." While they are quite powerful, you'll need to plan ahead of time and set up impressive chains of abilities to outsmart the enemy.
According to Focus Home Interactive, your Othercide journey will be anything but easy, as "cowardice will be punished, barely surviving will leave scars, and particularly efficient dispatching of the creatures sent against you will be rewarded, permanently affecting their stats. Memories, obtained from re-enacting the actions of their progenitor, change and improve each skill through customization, making your army truly your own. Inevitably, you'll need to make the toughest decision and sacrifice one of your Daughters to heal another - survivors will get stronger, ready to fight the next battle."
Without further ado, take a look at the aforementioned announcement trailer for Othercide down below:
