DOOM: ETERNAL Launch Trailer Puts the Spotlight on Doom Slayer's Epic Quest to Avenge Earth

As promised yesterday, Bethesda Softworks has just released an action-packed launch trailer for DOOM: Eternal, allowing us to learn more about the Slayer's epic quest to save Earth from the invasion of Hell’s terrible armies.

The Slayer's upcoming mission is a simple one — proving every single monster in the galaxy that there's only one dominant life form in this universe — and it "carries a steel-barreled sword of vengeance."

Considering that 2016's reboot of id Software's long-running franchise still is one of the most enjoyable first-person shooters available on the market, it's hard not to be excited about its fast-approaching sequel.

"Eternal is the best game we have ever made. It is brilliant. I cannot wait for everyone to finally play it. It runs butter smooth. The combat is fluid as silk. idTech7 is pushing so much geometric detail. The image quality is bonkers," Lead Engine Programmer at id Software Billy Khan said back in January.

Without further ado, take a closer look the aforementioned DOOM: Eternal launch trailer down below:

As the DOOM Slayer, you return to find Earth has suffered a demonic invasion. Raze Hell and discover the Slayer’s origins and his enduring mission to rip and tear…until it is done. Experience the ultimate combination of speed and power as you battle your way across dimensions with the next leap in push-forward, first-person combat.

DOOM: ETERNAL will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC (via Steam) on the 20th of March; coming to Nintendo Switch at a later date.
