Amazon Game Studios Reveals First Details on NEW WORLD's Combat and Weapon Progression

MMO games may not be as popular today as they used to be just a decade ago, but Amazon Games Studios will still try to steal the (fading) spotlight from World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls Online and Final Fantasy XIV this May.

You read that right: Amazon Games Studios' New World is coming to PC on May 26, 2020; priced at $39.99.

Unlike World of Warcraft, you won't need to have a monthly subscription to continue your journey in New World once you've purchased the base game, as the upcoming MMO will cost $39.99 for lifetime access.

According to Amazon, New World will be much more dynamic than its competitors, so you can forget about button mashing at creating countless macros. Apparently, the combat system was designed specifically to push the player to make clever choices and "forge, discover, and customise powerful weapons."

To learn more about New World's combat and weapon progression, check out the dev diary down below:

Fate has summoned you to the shores of Aeternum, the Eternal Isle. Overcome the brutal legions of The Corrupted and draw battle lines with competing players in this land of danger and opportunity. In a land hell-bent on your destruction, what will you do to survive?

New World is coming to PC (via Steam) on May 26, 2020.
