Development on CI Games' LORDS OF THE FALLEN 2 Has Been Resumed; Souls-Like Game Is a Next-Gen Title
It seems that the recent sales success of Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts has allowed the development team at CI Games to start working on the long-delayed sequel to 2014's Lords of the Fallen again — but it won't be released anytime soon.
According to the company's CEO Marek Tymiński, Lords of the Fallen 2 is finally moving forward, with unspecified "experienced, international developers" helping the studio bring the troubled sequel to life.
As revealed by Tymiński, the Polish game developer has already managed to establish a modernised vision of the long-awaited title, basing on the working prototype created by Defiant Studios. As a reminder, the New York–based company's version of Lords of the Fallen 2 was officially scrapped by CI Games in May 2019.
Lords of the Fallen 2 is being made at three CI Games studios, with independent contractors only working on several components of the Souls-like production; presumably taking lessons directly from Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contract. The RPG is designed "mostly" with the next generation of consoles (and PC) in mind.
CI Games is also simultaneously producing at least two new entries in the Sniper Ghost Warrior series.
