Small Hero Faces Big Problems in Over 40 Minutes of Never-Before-Seen GROUNDED Gameplay Footage

Following the outstanding success of The Outer Worlds, Obsidian Entertainment has showcased over 40 minutes of pure gameplay footage from Grounded, the award-winning developement studio's original take on the survival genre. The video game will be officially available on Xbox One and PC on the 28th of July.

In the fast-approaching Grounded, role-playing aficionados should forget about battling dragons and ancient beasts, as their main in-game enemies will be average spiders, ants and other insects. That's right, Grounded owners will control teeny-tiny characters, turning a sunny garden into one gigantic battlefield.

Given that Obsidian's games are usually only serviceable when it comes to gameplay, it will be interesting to see how Grounded — which doesn't seem to feature a strong story component — will fare in the long run.

Taking into account that Obsidian is now part of Microsoft's in-house Xbox Game Studios family, Grounded probably won't be coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch anytime soon (although it's not impossible).

Without further ado, take a look at Grounded's story trailer and 44 minutes of all-new footage down below:

The world is a vast, beautiful and dangerous place – especially when you have been shrunk to the size of an ant. Can you thrive alongside the hordes of giant insects, fighting to survive the perils of the backyard?

Grunded is coming to Xbox One and PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store) on July 28, 2020.
