Amanita Design's Award-Winning MACHINARIUM Is Finally Coming to Xbox One This Thursday
Microsoft has officially announced that Amanita Design's opus magnum Machinarium is headed to Xbox One this Thursday, finally giving Xbox players the chance to experience one of the best-reviewed indie games of the 2000s. Yes, you read that right, Machinarium was originally released back in October 2009.
In case you're not familiar with the beloved Czech title, it's "an award-winning independent adventure game developed by the makers of Samorost and Botanicula. Help Josef the robot to save his girlfriend Berta kidnapped by the Black Cap Brotherhood gang in this classic puzzle platformer."
Interestingly, Machinarium's on X360 was cancelled in April 2010 after Microsoft had refused to publish the title on its Xbox Live Arcade service, encouraging Amanita to strike a deal with Sony and release it via PSN.
The long-awaited Xbox One version of Amanita Design's hit will officially be priced at $14.99 at launch.
Machinarium is not the only major project to release on Xbox One on the 16th of April, as Triple Scale Games' soccer-esque production Save Your Nuts will also make its way on to the console this Thursday.
