The Locust Horde Must Be Stopped in Exciting Launch Trailer for XCOM-Esque GEARS TACTICS

Microsoft has just released an intense launch trailer for Gears Tactics, a new turn-based strategy game brought to life by the Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory development team — that is headed exclusively to PC toward the end of the month. The project is coming to both Xbox One and Xbox Series X at a later date.

Gears Tactics will serve as a prequel to the main Gears of Wars series — set 12 years before the main events of the beloved Cliff Bleszinski–designed shooter — so longtime fans of the franchise should definitely keep an eye on the long-awaited title, even if playing classic strategy games is not something they're really into.

The highly anticipated XCOM-inspired video game will be available on Xbox Game Pass for PC at launch.

The aforementioned video does a good job showcasing Tactics' universe — and its biggest threat, Ukkon, the Locust army's leader — as well as the core gameplay mechanics of the Splash Damage–created title.

Without further ado, take a closer look at the action-packed launch trailer for Gears Tactics down below:

Gears Tactics is the fast-paced, turn-based strategy game from one of the most-acclaimed video game franchises – Gears of War. Outnumbered and fighting for survival, recruit and command your squad to hunt down an evil mastermind who makes monsters

Gears Tactics is coming to PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store) on April 28, 2020.
