Square Enix Has Shared Some New Gameplay Footage For Long-Awaited MARVEL'S AVENGERS

Marvel's Avengers has been delayed to September, but many fans would like to learn new details about the Crystal Dynamics–developed video game right now — and Square Enix has just released another trailer to quench their thirst. Unfortunately, said video is made up almost completely of previously seen footage.

Thankfully, the "overview" trailer provides our best look yet at Marvel's Avengers' RPG-lite component. Just like Bungie's Destiny and Ubisoft's The Division, the upcoming title will allow players to fully customise each of the six playable characters — Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Ms. Marvel.

Just like every other live-service game, the long-awaited Marvel's Avengers will offer players the chance to unlock different gear (including fancy suits) and key skills to customise the overall experience to their liking.

The trailer also does a pretty good job spotlighting the superhero group's base of operations — a forgotten, ruined Helicarrier. The abandoned vehicle will serve as the game's main (and possibly also social) hub.

Square Enix reportedly has an extensive post-launch plan for Marvel's Avengers, so chances are that other fan-favourite characters — such as Hawkeye and Black Panther — will come to the action-packed game at some point in the future. Without further ado, take a closer look at the title's latest trailer down below:

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Marvel's Avengers will release for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia on September 4, 2020.
