Ubisoft Film & Television Is Working on Original Project About Senior Citizen Esports Players
Following the successful debut of Apple+'s Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet TV series, Ubisoft Film & Television has officially announced its next big thing, an original project focused on senior citizens entering the ever-evolving world of esports. The newly revealed production is inspired by a 2019 article in the Wall Street Journal — "The Next Generation of Competitive Gamers Is … Over 60?" — by Laura Parker.
To bring the movie to life, Ubisoft has teamed up with Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, the co-writers and co-directors of Amy Schumer's 2018 comedy I Feel Pretty.
According to Ubisoft Film & Television, "the untitled film centers on an esports team made up entirely of senior citizens, who learn to triumph in a world dominated by younger competitors,"
This isn't the the only production Ubisoft Film & Television is currently working on, as the studio is also producing a horror comedy based on 2016's Werewolves Within, Ubisoft's VR-exclusive experience.
The Ubisoft Film & Television–created Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet — made by the team responsible for the beloved It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia sitcom — has also been renewed for a second season.
