GROUNDED Game Informer Cover Puts The Spotlight on Tiny Heroes of Obsidian's Big Game
In a surprising turn of events, Game Informer #325 is on sale now — and fans of survival games should definitely take a closer look at its newly revealed cover, spotlighting Obsidian Entertainment's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids–esque Grounded. That's right, Obsidian is making a The Long Dark–like title, but with a twist.
Unlike other big-budget survival games, Grounded doesn't take place in some ancient realm or zombiefied city, asking players to find a way to survive in... a sunny garden. With the main heroes of Grounded being 10x smaller than an ant, battling even a tiny spider will make things much more interesting (and dangerous).
Considering that Grouned is being created at Obsidian — the renowned makers of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Alpha Protocol and Fallout: New Vegas — it's safe to say that Grounded will be worth the wait, even though the story won't be the main focus of the fast-approaching production.
Although Grounded is not coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch (the studio is now part of Microsoft's Xbox Game Studios family), the Switch port of Obsidian's The Outer Worlds will be released on June 5, 2020.
The magazine's latest issue features plenty of details on Grounded, but the company will be sharing new information about its next big thing throughout the whole month. Check out the cover art down below:
The world is a vast, beautiful and dangerous place – especially when you have been shrunk to the size of an ant. Can you thrive alongside the hordes of giant insects, fighting to survive the perils of the backyard?
Grunded is coming to Xbox One and PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store on July 28, 2020.
