FAR CRY 3 Star Michael Mando Seemingly Suggests That Vaas Montenegro May Return Soon
Despite Ubisoft Montreal's best attempts to improve on the proven Far Cry 3 formula, many players still believe Michael Mando's Vaas Montenegro is the definitive Far Cry antagonist who makes Pagan Min and Joseph Seed pale in comparison. Although nothing has been officially announced yet, chances are that the charismatic — albeit slightly insane — villain will make a return in some way, shape, or form "very soon."
During a recent chat with fans of Reddit, Mando revealed some new details not only on the fifth season of the award-winning Better Call Saul show, but also the role Vaas played in getting his career off the ground.
"Vaas is my spirit animal - having co-created that character is something that will always be dear to me. I still get recognized as Vaas, and I still feel the outpouring of love for that character - makes me very happy. Who knows... maybe I will reprise the role very soon?," the actor said on Twitter yesterday.
It's been almost a decade since Far Cry 3 made its debut, so bringing back one of the most popular video game villains (and easily the most recognisable Far Cry character) definitely seems like a good idea, especially after the divisive Far Cry: New Dawn, which also was a mild sales disappointment for Ubisoft.
According to Jason Schreier, the next major Far Cry game will be released by March 2021, but it's safe to say that the ongoing coronavirus pandemic could very well force Ubisoft to delay the rumoured title.
