Publisher Square Enix has just released an intense launch trailer for the highly anticipated Trials of Mana, a modern revival of the classic role-playing game that is finally available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC (only via Steam). The long-awaited Final Fantasy VII–esque production is currently priced at $49,99.
At its core, the newly released Trials of Mana is a full remake of Seiken Densetsu 3, a fan-favourite jRPG that made its debut in Japan 25 years ago. According to Web Content Editor Duncan Heaney, this year's Trials of Mana is a "complete reimagining of that earlier game, designed for a modern audience."
As reported by Heaney, Trials of Mana "retains everything that made the original game so beloved in its native Japan — quirky characters, an imaginative world, fast-paced gameplay and memorable music. But it also includes brand new mechanics, deeper combat, beautiful visuals and so much more."
It looks like Trials of Mana was worth the wait, as the project is sitting at a perfectly fine 77% critic score on Metacritic. Those who are not sure if the title will meet their preferences should keep an eye on its demo.
