Ambitious Shooter DISINTEGRATION Gets Action-Packed Story Trailer and Official Release Date
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Disintegration is almost finished, as the ambitious first-person shooter — directed by Marcus Lehto, one of the creative masterminds behind Bungie's Halo trilogy — will be released on the 16th of June. The original FPS is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam).
Published by Private Division, Disintegration is set in a post-apocalyptic universe where the last remnants of humanity are being hunted down by the so-called Integrated. In the V1 Interactive–created world, these Integrated were supposed to be the cure for mankind's biggest problems; unfortunately, something went terribly wrong, with the rogue AI now doing its best to destroy its visionary (yet short-sighted) designers.
"I’ve always been a gameplay-driven storyteller, and with Disintegration, I wanted to create a compelling narrative built around mechanics that haven’t been done before," the award-winning director explained in a press release. "It’s in my DNA to create memorable characters and rich worlds that go beyond a standard FPS experience. I’m so excited that players get to be a part of it soon."
According to the studio, Disintegration offers not only a full-blown single-player campaign, but also frenetic PVP multiplayer "where pilots and their crews compete in three game modes and six distinct maps."
With Disintegration hitting stores next month, we will definitely learn a whole lot more about V1 Interactive's debut project in the coming weeks. In the meantime, take a look at its intense story trailer down below:
You play as Romer Shoal, a former Gravcycle pilot in command of a small Integrated resistance still grasping onto fading memories of their human selves. With the domineering Rayonne forces set on eliminating the final remnants of human society, it’s up to Romer and his crew of Outlaws to fight back and reboot humanity.
Disintegration is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam) on June 16, 2020.
