Bloober Team Shares Small Batch of Creepy Screenshots for Its Next-Gen Horror — THE MEDIUM
Cracow-based game developer Bloober Team has shared a batch on never-before-seen screenshots for The Medium, an ambitious horror production that is coming not only to PC, but also the long-awaited Xbox One successor, Xbox Series X. The Polish studio's original project will make its debut during this holiday season.
Although The Medium was officially announced during Thursday's Inside Xbox event, we've been hearing about Bloober Team's unique take on The Sixth Sense (and other titles exploring the spirit world) since 2014.
Inspired by the works of Zdzisław Beksiński and Salvador Dalí, The Medium's first cinematic trailer was focused on Marianne — played by Weronika Rosati — the upcoming game's titular hero. Haunted by a vision of a child's murder, the protagonist will embark on a dangerous journey to solve the grim mystery.
The Medium is set in 1980's Cracow, one of the most important (if not the most important) cities in the history of Poland. Quite interestingly, the game will feature a “dual” soundtrack — composed by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill 2, Shadows of the Damned) and Arkadiusz Reikowski (Kholat, Layers of Fear) — to make the differences between the occupied country and the Giger-esque reality even more distinct.
To learn more about the Cracow-based team's The Medium, take a look at the new screenshots down below:
Become a medium living in two worlds: the real and the spirit one. Haunted by a vision of a child’s murder, you travel to an abandoned hotel resort, which years ago became the stage of an unthinkable tragedy. There you begin your search for difficult answers. As a medium with access to both worlds, you have a wider perspective and can see more clearly that there’s no one simple truth to what others perceive. Nothing is what it seems, everything has an other side.
The Medium is coming to Xbox Series X and PC during this holiday season.
