STAR WARS EPISODE I: RACER's Nintendo Switch & PlayStation 4 Port Has Been Delayed at the Last Minute

Star Wars Episode I: Racer's PS4 and Nintendo Switch port was supposed to make its debut today, but developer Aspyr has announced that the new version of the 1999 classic has been delayed and won’t arrive on the 12th of May as originally planned. Unfortunately, the current-gen edition of the racing game hasn't been given a new launch date, but the American studio will "be back with an update as soon as possible."
As you've probably already guessed, the global COVID-19 pandemic and "work from home requirements" are the main reasons behind the unexpected delay of the beloved racing game set in the Star Wars world.
The aforementioned Switch version was first announced during March's Nintendo Direct show — alongside a new iteration of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, one of the highest-rated Star Wars video games in history.
The PS4 and NS edition of Star Wars Episode I: Racer will feature some welcome upgrades — including modernised controls — that would "impress Anakin himself," at least according to the team at Aspyr.
We are so excited to share Star Wars Episode l: Racer with you soon! Unfortunately, due to the ongoing work from home requirements across the industry, the game will be further delayed on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. We’ll be back with an update as soon as possible.— Aspyr (@AspyrMedia) May 11, 2020
