Bethesda Shares New Details on the Future of THE ELDER SCROLLS VI, BLADES and GREYMOOR

Bethesda is simultaneously developing three projects set in the Elder Scrolls universe — The Elder Scrolls VI, The Elder Scrolls Online, and The Elder Scrolls Blades — and the company recently shared new details on the franchise' future. Despite the ongoing pandemic, both TES: Online and Blades have reached a new milestone.

When it comes to TES: Blade — designed for mobile devices from the ground up — its long beta phase has finally come to an end. The project's Early Access started back in April 2019, so it's safe to say that its core gameplay mechanics have been thoroughly tested. TES: Blade is also coming to Nintendo Switch this Spring.

When it comes to TES: Online, its long-delayed Greymoor expansion will make its PC debut on the 26th of May, allowing fans of the MMO to explore the cold region of Skyrim once again. The DLC will arrive on PS4 and XBO on June 9th. To learn more about the Dark Heart of Skyrim story, check out the trailer down below.

Unfortunately, Bethesda's Pete Hines doesn't have good news for fans of 2011's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, as its highly anticipated sequel — which was first revealed at E3 2018 — won't be released anytime soon.

Asked by a fan of Twitter, Hines confirmed that TESVI is a song of the future. According to the senior vice president of global marketing and communications at Bethesda, the team is currently prioritising "Starfield, which you pretty much know nothing about." As a friendly reminder, Starfield was also announced at E3 2018 by Game Director Todd Howard, and the only thing we know about it is the fact that it's set in space.

UPDATE: Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls: Blades is now available on Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop:

The Dark Heart of Skyrim beats from the depths in The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor, the latest adventure in the Elder Scrolls saga. A chilling evil from the First Era awakens, and Skyrim needs heroes. Explore the snow-swept region of Western Skyrim, discover Tamriel’s hidden history, and face an ancient threat as part of a year-long story.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor will be available on PC (via Steam) on May 26, launching on PlayStation 4 & Xbox One on June 9; coming to Google Stadia at a later date.
