Over 15 Minutes of Amazing GHOST OF TSUSHIMA Gameplay Footage Have Been Released Online

Ghost of Tsushima will be one of the most important PlayStation 4–exclusive games of the year, and over 15 minutes of never-before-seen gameplay footage from Sucker Punch's upcoming open-world opus magnum only prove this theory. The all-new video focuses mostly on exploration, combat, and customisation options.

Between Dreams, NiOh 2, and Final Fantasy VII Remake, PS4 has had a remarkable year, and Marvel's Iron Man VR, The Last of Us Part II, and Ghost of Tsushima will likely continue the console's hot streak.

In the game, players will take on the role of Jin Sakai, a lone hero who will do whatever it takes to protect his home, the island of Tsushima. In 1274, Japan was waging war against the forces of the unstoppable Mongol Empire — and as the titular ghost, players will embark on an epic journey to fight for Tsushima's freedom.

Considering that Ghost of Tsushima is being developed at Sucker Punch — the renonwed makers of Sly Cooper and Infamous series — it's safe to say that the title will be worth the wait. Fans of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice should definitely keep an eye on the all-new project, as these three award-winning games seem to have been the team's main source of inspiration.

Without further ado, take a closer look at the beautiful world of Ghost of Tsushima in the video down below:

The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan—until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting—the way of the Ghost—as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.

Ghost of Tsushima is coming to PlayStation 4 on July 17, 2020.
