Agent 47 Will Return in HITMAN 3; Cross-Gen Stealth Game Will Arrive in January 2021

Considering that some of the world's biggest stealth franchises — namely Splinter Cell, Thief, and Metal Gear Solid — are all but officially dead, the fact that Hitman is still going strong is nothing short of a miracle.
That's right, Danish studio IO Interactive is officially working on Hitman 3. Agent 47's next adventure is not only the eight Hitman video game overall (not counting smaller titles and mobile instalments), but also the final entry in the latest Hitman trilogy, consisting of 2016's Hitman, 2018's Hitman 2, and 2021's Hitman 3.
Quite surprisingly, Hitman 3 is not too far off. The recently revealed title will arrive in January as a cross-gen production, which means that it's coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
Unlike Hitman and Hitman 2, the threequel will be a finished, full package since day one. It's definitely good news for all players, as the episodic structure of the last two instalments made the whole experience at least a little bit frustrating at launch. Furthermore, the upcoming project will be self-published by IO Interactive.
During the course of the game, Agent 47 will team-up with his long-lost friend Lucas Grey to eliminate the last remaining members of the villainous Providence cabal. Although the anti-hero's will be faced with "the most important contracts of his entire career," Hitman 3 will be much more than just a stand-alone game.
According to IO Interactive, Hitman 3 will allow you to import locations from Hitman and Hitman 2, which means that you will be able to play the entire trilogy from within the fast-approaching title (if you already own the last two games). Your Hitman 2 unlocks and progression will also be carried over into Hitman 3.
