Stunt Doubles Unite to Battle MODOK and Abomination in New Trailers for MARVEL’S AVENGERS

Yesterday, we were promised some brand-new gameplay trailers for Marvel's Avengers, and earlier today, we received exactly that — sadly, the latest footage from the upcoming game won't convince the unconvinced.

Considering that the long-delayed production will finally hit stores on the 4th of September, the fact that Marvel's Avengers has serious frame-rate issues is both disturbing and seriously concerning at this stage.

When it comes to the actual trailers, one of them confirms what has been known for a good while now, as MODOK will officially be the title's main villain. For those unfamiliar with the character, he made his debut in 1967's Tales of Suspense #93 and has been a recurring foe of Marvel's most popular super-team ever since.

One of the new trailers also spotlights Marvel's Avengers' War Tables, which basically is a world map that allows the player to choose their next missions. During your Marvel's Avengers journey, you will take part in either Hero Missions (they push the story forward) or War Zone Missions, which will be more open-ended.

According to Marvel’s Avengers Lead Designer Philippe Therien, "War Zones really shine when players team up and use their abilities in tandem. Some of my favorite moments playing in multiplayer involve combining heroic powers, the War Zone director told the PlayStation Blog. "For example, Thor can send a large group of enemies flying up in the air, and while they are immobilized, Iron Man will volley missiles at them; it is an amazing sight. Another fun and highly destructive combo sees Kamala Khan sending an enemy flying with a mega high-five, followed by Hulk’s Thunderclap on the stunned enemy. Not many enemies can survive that one-two-punch. These moments featuring the Avengers coming together are really the foundation of why teaming up in War Zones is so much fun."

Take a closer look at the brand-new story, co-op, and War Zone trailers for Marvel's Avengers down below:

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Marvel's Avengers will release for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia on September 4, 2020; coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X this holiday season.
