Open-World Adventure BIOMUTANT Steps Into the Spotlight After Two Years of Silence
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
Category: Open-World Games
Although Biomutant was officially announced by THQ Nordic back in August 2017, Stockholm-based video game developer Experiment 101's debut project still doesn't have a concrete release date (or even window).
It's been some time since we had an update on the status of Biomutant, but the Swedish company finally revealed some new details on its open-world extravaganza during yesterday's Summer of Gaming event.
First of all, Biomutant Creative Director Stefan Ljungqvist reassured fans once again that the game is in the final stages of development, so there's a small chance that it won't be delayed again and will make its debut at some point this year. As a friendly reminder, Biomutant is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Furthermore, Ljungqvist confirmed that the long-awaited production will allow you to create your very own in-game avatar and later fully customise your protagonist. It's probably worth remembering that Biomutant is set in a colourful Zootopia-like world, so the title's main hero will always look (more or less) like an animal.
Be sure to take a look at the core mechanics of Biomutant in over 10 minutes of fresh footage down below:
Biomutant is an open-world, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG, with a unique martial arts styled combat system allowing you to mix melee, shooting and mutant ability action. A plague is ruining the land and the Tree-of-Life is bleeding death from its roots. The Tribes stand divided. Explore a world in turmoil and define its fate – will you be its saviour or lead it to an even darker destiny?
Biomutant is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and GOG) in 2020.
