Focus Home Interactive Has Acquired German Developer Deck13 Interactive, Makers of THE SURGE

French publisher Focus Home Interactive has officially announced that it has acquired Frankfurt-based developer Deck13, the award-winning studio responsible for 2014's Lords of the Fallen and 2017's The Surge.

Fans of the evergreen masocore genre are surely familiar with Deck13's work, as the studio's Lords of the Fallen and two titles set in The Surge world are some of the best Souls-like games that you can play today.

Considering that Deck13's latest project — The Surge 2 — launched in September 2019, it's safe to say that the studio is already hard at work on its next big thing, which will reportedly be a new IP. With Focus Home's financial support, Deck13 can focus solely on polishing the mysterious title and announce it when it's ready.

Although Deck13's new game probably won't hit stores anytime soon, Focus Home is still a busy company, as the publisher's Othercide and Necromunda: Underhive Wars will both be released later this summer.

As a friendly reminder, the long-delayed sequel to Deck13's Lords of the Fallen is currently in the works at CI Games. The Warsaw-based studio is also simultaneously developing Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts 2.
