One Million People Have Played Bloober Team's BLAIR WITCH Since Its Launch in August 2019

Bloober Team has proudly announced that Blair Witch — the developer's first-person horror set in the dark Black Hills Forest — have been downloaded by one million players since its launch in August 2019.

For those unfamiliar with Bloober Team's take on 1999's The Blair Witch Project, it was released on PC and Xbox One — also on Xbox Game Pass — in August, with its PlayStation 4 port hitting stores last December.

Just yesterday, Blair Witch made its debut on Nintendo Switch, allowing players to join the search for a missing boy as ex-cop Ellis on-the-go. The Switch version of Blair Witch is priced at $26.99 on the eShop.

Fans of Bloober Team's work should be happy to hear that the Cracow-based developer and publisher is currently working on three titles: Observer: System Redux (coming to PS5 and XSX this holiday season), The Medium (arriving on XSX and PC later this year), and a mysterious new entry in a well-known game series.

As a friendly reminder, Bloober Team is also producing a movie based on Layers of Fear, which in the works at Los Angeles–based Project Nerd Boss. Unfortunately, story details on the film are being kept under wraps.

It’s 1996. A young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. As Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, you join the search. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods…

Blair Witch is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and GOG).
