FROSTPUNK Mobile Port Will Arrive in 2021, 11 bit studios' PROJECT 8 Won't Hit Stores Anytime Soon
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
Polish developer and publisher 11 bit studios provided an update on its release schedule during today's investor conference, and fans of Frostpunk should be happy to hear that the company is not planning to abandon the IP anytime soon. Actually, 11 bit is working on three projects set in the cold world of Frostpunk.
The first title — Frostpunk: On The Edge — is a story DLC for 2018's real-time strategy game that will make its PC debut at some point this summer, possibly on the 30th of July. According to the award-winning studio, Frostpunk's third — and unfortunately, last — expansion not only opens a "brand-new chapter set in the Frostpunk universe, but also further enriches the core experience by pitting players against new challenges, and offering new unique mechanics both in the city and on the Frostland map."
Furthermore, 11 bit studios and Glass Cannon Unplugged's Kickstarter campaign to fund Frostpunk: The Board Game will launch sometime this fall, and if it's successful, the 4-player game will hit stores in 2021.
Finally, the recently revealed mobile version of Frostpunk is officially coming to iOS and Android devices next year as well. The port is being developed by Chinese NetEase Games, which will also distribute the title.
When it comes to the Warsaw-based developer's other video games, the studio's long-awaited Project 8 has been delayed and will now be announced (and maybe even released) in 2022 at the earliest. Despite the ongoing pandemic, 11 bit is still planning to publish 10 games in the next three years, including Project Botin, Project Dolly, Project Eleanor, and Project Ava, which is being created by Spanish developer Chibig.
In other 11 bit studios–related news, 2018's Moonlighter will launch for iOS and Android sometime in 2020.
