The team at Sony has shared yet another trailer for Sucker Punch's fast-approaching Ghost of Tsushima, this time putting the spotlight on the open-world game's main protagonist's tragic backstory and unlikely allies.
The newly released "A Storm is Coming" cinematic trailer is one of the last Ghost of Tsushima trailers before its official launch on the 17th of July. Quite interestingly, Ghost of Tsushima might very well be PlayStation 4's magnificent swan song, as the console's next-gen successor will make its debut this holiday season.
For those unfamiliar with the Infamous: Second Son studio's new title, the Dark Souls and Assassin's Creed–like sandbox will give you a unique chance to do whatever it takes to save feudal Japan from the impending arrival of the Mongol Empire as samurai warrior Jin Sakai — the last hope of the Land of the Rising Sun.
According to the studio, Ghost of Tsushima features one of the most intuitive combat systems in the genre, favouring speed and agility over brute force — and yes, a single strike is enough to kill almost every enemy.
Without further ado, take a closer look at the latest action-packed trailer for Ghost of Tsushima down below:
The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan—until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting—the way of the Ghost—as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.
Ghost of Tsushima is coming to PlayStation 4 on July 17, 2020.
