Naughty Dog Shares a Tonne of Truly Breathtaking THE LAST OF US PART II Concept Art

The Last of Us Part II is highly divisive, but it's hard to argue with the fact that Naughty Dog's latest video game is one of the most beautiful — if not the most beautiful — PlayStation 4–exclusive projects out there.

Although many players do not agree with The Last of Us Part II Director Neil Druckmann's controversial story choices — that would make Rian Johnson proud — the Santa Monica–based game developer's attention to detail and ambition are simply jaw-dropping, no matter what you think of the recently released game itself.

Considering that The Last of Us Part II was brought to life be an army of skilled artists and programmers, it shouldn't be surprising that Naughty Dog has decided to officially share some of their amazing work, giving fans a chance to take a behind-the-scenes look at the game's most touching — and spoiler-y — moments.

"Creating the sequel to such a beloved game was an incredibly rewarding challenge, thanks to the efforts of the hundreds of developers here at Naughty Dog and our many partners," The Last of Us Part II Art Directors John Sweeney and Erick Pangilinan said on ArtStation. "It was an amazing experience working alongside so many talented people to bring a collective vision to your homes. This collection of work is a celebration of the creativity and talent that we’re fortunate to have at the studio and with our collaborators, so please enjoy all of the hard work that the teams have put into the game."

As a friendly reminder, The Last of Us Part II is a smashing hit, selling well over four million copies in the first three days after its release on June 19, 2020, making it the fastest-selling PS4–exclusive production.

For those interested in learning more about The Last of Us Part II development cycle, Dark Horse's Art of The Last of Us Part II art book made its debut a week ago and is currently priced at £65.45 on Amazon.

Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors.

The Last of Us Part II is currently available for PlayStation 4.
