Twin Mirror was officially announced a good while ago — at E3 2018, to be exact — but Bandai Namco is finally getting ready to share some new details about Dontnod Entertainment's next story-driven project.
In the long-awaited game — which was supposed to make its debut last year — the player will take on the role of former investigative journalist Sam Higgs. After returning to his hometown and saying a final farewell to his best friend, the hero re-discovers his unique intellectual abilities to uncover the town’s darkest secrets.
After the mysterious death of a local journalists, Sam wakes up naked in his bed and finds his clothes soaked in blood. Following that dramatic discovery, the protagonist will embark on a dangerous journey to put the pieces of his past together. Yes, Dontnod's next project is heavily inspired by Christopher Nolan's Memento.
Quite interestingly, Memento is not the only Christopher Nolan–directed feature film the Life Is Strange 2 developer is using as a reference while working on Twin Mirror. For example, the game's most important location — the gravity defying Mind Palace — looks like something we could see in the world of Inception.

Sam Higgs was done with Basswood, West Virginia, but it seems it wasn’t done with him. When the former investigative journalist returns to his hometown to say a final farewell to his best friend, it soon becomes clear that there are more chapters to be written in his troubled history.
Twin Mirror is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2020.
