It's hard to believe, but Sucker Punch's PlayStation 4–exclusive Ghost of Tsushima — which was revealed at the 7th edition of Paris Games Week in October 2017 — will finally make its long-awaited debut on Friday.
To celebrate the Assassin's Creed–like title's fast-approaching release day, Sony has shared an intense launch trailer, shining a light on the immensely colourful — yet drenched in blood — world of Ghost of Tsushima.
Considering that the review embargo for Ghost of Tsushima will be lifted later today — at 7AM PT — we will learn a whole lot more about the Infamous: Second Son developer's new project sooner rather than later.
For those unfamiliar with Ghost of Tsushima, the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice–inspired sandbox will allow players to take on the role of samurai Jin Sakai and embark on a dangerous journey to find a way to stop an impending invasion of the dreadful Mongol Empire and save the future of the titular island of Tsushima.
With Ghost of Tsushima arriving this Friday, take a closer look at the game's short launch trailer down below:
The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan—until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting—the way of the Ghost—as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.
Ghost of Tsushima is coming to PlayStation 4 on July 17, 2020.
