Assassin's Creed Valhalla promises a thrilling evolution of the franchise's well-known formula, introducing plenty of completely new gameplay mechanics inspired by some of the most popular productions out there.
The latest character trailer for the upcoming Ubisoft Montreal–created sandbox provided our first look at one of these new features — a full-blown kill cam that will make the whole experience much more personal.
According to Assassin's Creed Valhalla Game Director Benoit Richer, players will be able to activate Sniper Elite-style on melee kills during gameplay, with the virtual camera closely following the Hidden Blade's path and showing body parts and bones being shattered by every self-respecting Assassin's weapon of choice.
Considering that the most recent Mortal Kombat video games offer very similar finishing moves, it will be interesting to see how the open-world title will differentiate from the fighting series' over-the-top fatalities.
With Assassin's Creed Valhalla launching in November — two days before the long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077 — the publisher will definitely share new details about the game's unique features in the near future.
