Tom Holland's UNCHARTED Movie Is Reportedly Set to Start Shooting Next Week in Germany

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Uncharted movie will start shooting on July 20, which means that the long-delayed adaptation of Naughty Dog's beloved franchise might indeed hit theaters on July 16, 2021.

For those unfamiliar with the ongoing behind-the-scenes drama surrounding Uncharted — which has been in development since 2010 and was originally supposed to make its debut in June 2017 — the flick was on track to start filming in March before the coronavirus pandemic closed down productions across the globe.

Uncharted will be filmed in Spain and Germany, with Berlin being one of the main locations Tom Holland's Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg's Victor Sullivan will visit during their long-overdue big-screen adventure.

Although Germany is starting to lift social distancing rules, Sony will still have to implement the preventive measures against COVID-19 to make sure that the Uncharted production crew stays safe through the shoot.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland: Double Tap), Uncharted will serve as Drake's origin story putting the spotlight on the hero's first massive treasure hunt. While we're patiently waiting for new details about the movie, take a look at Holland's first set photo the actor recently shared on Instagram down below:
