Don't Expect to Learn More About PlatinumGames' BABYLON'S FALL Anytime Soon, Square Enix Says
Although PlatinumGames' Babylon's Fall was announced a good while ago, we still know next to nothing about the NieR:Automata developer's next major title — and it won't change anytime soon, unfortunately.
The slasher was supposed to step into the spotlight this summer, but that plan has changed, as the award-winning studio isn't ready to share any new details on the brand-new IP. "Thank you to all fans who've been following along for updates on Babylon's Fall," publisher Square Enix explained on Twitter recently.
"While we hoped to reveal more about the game this summer, we can share that development on Babylon's Fall is continuing to progress well, with the team working safely from home," the studio continued. "Square Enix and PlatinumGames are committed to delivering an exhilarating experience and we look forward to showcasing much more on Babylon's Fall to you as soon as we can."
It's worth remembering that Babylon's Fall is officially coming only to PlayStation 4 and PC — as the team at PlatinumGames seemingly holds a grudge against Microsoft after the cancellation of Scalebound — and the fact that the console's successor will arrive later this year suggests that it could very well be a cross-gen title.
As a reminder, Babylon's Fall is not the only big-budget video game PlatinumGames is currently working on, as the renowned makers of The Wonderful 101 — and its recently released remastered version — are also producing the long-awaited sequel to Bayonetta 2 and Project G.G. that will be self-published by Platinum.
Babylon's Fall is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC (via Steam).
