Crytek Shares First Look at Nintendo Switch Version of Upcoming CRYSIS REMASTERED

It may be hard to believe, but Crysis Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch tomorrow, allowing fans of the hybrid console to (re-)experience the glory of one of the most groundbreaking video games ever made.

To make the wait a little less painful — and to convince the unconvinced — Crytek has released over 30 minutes of pure gameplay footage from Crysis Remastered running on Nintendo Switch — and it turns out that developer Saber Interactive did a pretty good job porting the PC-killer to the generally weak hardware.

For those interested in the nitty-gritty technical aspects of Crysis Remastered, the beloved FPS reportedly runs on the Nintendo console at 720p in docked mode, and uses dynamic resolution scaling to hit 900p.

Although Crysis Remastered will arrive on Nintendo Switch as soon as this Thursday, the German publisher was originally planning to release it not only on the portable console, but also PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and even PC. Unfortunately, Crytek recently announced that the game's other versions will launch later this year.

With the Nintendo Switch edition of Crysis Remastered launching on the 23rd of July, be sure to take a look at the aforementioned video — and Digital Foundry's in-depth technical analysis of the port — down below:

The classic first person shooter from Crytek is back with the action-packed gameplay, sandbox world, and thrilling epic battles you loved the first time around – now with remastered graphics optimized for a new generation of hardware.
