Survival Game GROUNDED Gets a Hilarious Launch Trailer, Obsidian's Next Big Thing Releases Tomorrow
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
Category: Survival Games
Unlike the vast majority of Obsidian Entertainment–created games, Grounded won't feature complex heroes, epic quests, or even dialogue trees — in fact, the Tyranny team's new project is a full-blown survival game.
That's right, Grounded is something completely new for Obsidian, as the beloved developer has never made a game relying solely on its gameplay mechanics. Fortunately, we won't have to wait to play it too long, as the Fallout: New Vegas crew's answer to ARK: Survival Evolved arrives on Xbox One & PC tomorrow, July 28.
Although survival games are usually set in some ancient realms, tropical jungles, or ruined towns, Grounded takes place a sunny garden, bringing something new to the table — as its main characters are super tiny.
With your protagonist being 10x smaller than a black ant, battling even the most common type of spiders will make things much more exciting (and dangerous). Thankfully, Grounded will also offer a special mode that replaces spiders with other insects to allow people who suffer from arachnophobia enjoy the game.
To learn more about the big world of Grounded, take a closer look at its hilarious launch trailer down below:
The world is a vast, beautiful and dangerous place – especially when you have been shrunk to the size of an ant. Can you thrive alongside the hordes of giant insects, fighting to survive the perils of the backyard?
Grunded is coming to Xbox One and PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store) on July 28, 2020.
