It looks like Microsoft and developer Turn 10 Studios are working hard on a full-blown reboot of the long-running Forza Motorsport franchise that will be released on Xbox Series X and PC at some point in the future.
The all-new Forza Motorsport — titled simply Forza Motorsport — is marketed by Microsoft as "automotive entertainment re-imagined for a new generation" that will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day 1.
The recently announced entry in the Redmond-based developer's trademark racing series will not only support 4K and HDR, but also Xbox Series X's Smart Delivery feature. "The Xbox Series X is about speed and immersion, connecting players to the Forza universe, and to one another, like never before," the studio revealed on the title's website. "Currently early in development, Forza Motorsport will run at 4K, 60 frames per second with scenes connected and dynamic. Ray tracing is coming to ForzaTech, creating a dynamic world where everything is connected – from surfaces of cars reflecting off each other, brilliant red paint reflected off of detailed track surfaces and light and shadow interplay."
It's worth remembering that the franchise is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, so it's safe to say that the sequel to Forza Motorsport 7 will feature plenty of fan-favourite cars and tracks from previous games.
