Action-Packed CROSSFIREX Gameplay Trailer Shows Off Remedy-Created Campaign Mode
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
Category: First-Person Shooters
Remedy Entertainment — the award-winning makers of Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Control — are currently developing CrossfireX's campaign mode — and its new trailer suggests it will be quite an intense experience.
For those unfamiliar with Remedy's next major production, it's a full-blown first-person shooter that will arrive on Xbox One and Xbox Series X in 2020. The title will support the next-gen system's Smart Delivery feature, which means that you will be able to pick up where you left off on the console of your choice.
According to Xbox Wire Editor in Chief Will Tuttle, said trailer provides our first look at the key characters in Operation Spectre (which is set in "larger than life locations around the world including Asia and South America"). The campaign — inspired by Call of Duty: Black Ops — will give players a chance to explore the backstory of the Black List-Global Risk conflict. The mode will be available in Premium Battle Pass at launch.
It's worth remembering that the long-awaited CrossfireX is not the only project set in the Crossfire universe currently in the works, as Sony Pictures, Smilegate, and Chinese Tencent Pictures recently announced a feature-length film based on the series. Chuck Hogan (13 Hours, The Town) is writing the movie's script, with Neal H. Moritz (Sonic the Hedgehog, Escape Room) attached to produce the unexpected adaptation.
