CUPHEAD Arrives on PS4; THE DELICIOUS LAST COURSE DLC Won't Be Released Anytime Soon

Studio MDHR Entertainment has some great news for all PlayStation 4 players, as 2017's Cuphead has finally arrived on their console and you can download the beloved title now on the PlayStation Store (for $19.99).

The long-awaited confirmation of the unforgiving game's PS4 port was announced a couple of minutes ago during a short Summer Game Fest live-stream — sadly, the studio's COO Maja Moldenhauer also revealed that the game's biggest DLC to date — Cuphead - The Delicious Last Course — won't arrive anytime soon.

For those unfamiliar with Cuphead, the "Dark Souls of 2D platformers" was released nearly three years ago to overwhelmingly positive reviews. The Rayman-like title's unique art style was inspired by Walt Disney and Fleischer Studios' classic cartoons, but it doesn't change the fact that Cuphead is a truly difficult video game.

As a reminder, said expansion is not the only project set in the colourful Cuphead universe currently in the works, as Netflix Animation's adaptation of the video game — titled The Cuphead Show — will debut "soon."

To learn more about the PlayStation 4 version of Cuphead, take a closer look at its reveal trailer down below:

Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.

Cuphead is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam and GOG).
