CARRION Has Sold 200,000 Copies; Devolver Digital Shares New

Warsaw-based developer Phobia Game Studio and publisher Devolver Digital have proudly announced that their truly gruesome biological horror Carrion has sold well over 200,000 copies since its recent launch.

Although it's hard to argue with the fact that the Polish studio's latest title is a major sales hit, it's worth remembering that the all-new 2D game — which was released for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (sorry, PlayStation 4 fans) on July 23 — is also available on Xbox Game Pass (on both PC and Xbox One).

For those unfamiliar with Carrion — which is currently sitting at a sweet 76% score on Metacritic — it's an original "reverse horror" that allows players to take on the role of an gelatinous alien. As the monster, you consume every human being in your path to help the creature reach its final goal — breaking out of prison.

To celebrate Carrion's amazing accomplishment, the team at Devolver has shared a hilarious BTS-like trailer. According to the publisher, the "Behind the Screams" video is "a shocking three-minute exposé about the making of the hit reverse horror game" — and it perfectly encapsulates the game's The Thing–esque tone.

CARRION is a reverse horror game in which you assume the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origin. Stalk and consume those that imprisoned you to spread fear and panic throughout the facility. Grow and evolve as you tear down this prison and acquire more and more devastating abilities on the path to retribution.

Carrion is currently available for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam and GOG).
