CI Games Is Planning to Team-Up With a Leading Publisher for LORDS OF THE FALLEN 2

Many players have probably completely forgotten about the long-delayed sequel to 2014's Lords of the Fallen, but it doesn't change the fact that CI Games is still actively developing its biggest project to date.

Although the team at CI Games has been working on Lords of the Fallen 2 for a while now — and it's worth remembering that New York–based Defiant Studios was originally supposed to create the title from start to finish — the Polish company is planning to partner with a leading publisher to make their dream a reality.

CI Games has officially started negotiations with a global producer, publisher, and distributor that will help the developer bring their next-gen masocore game to market. The planned investment value might exceed PLN 50 million, which would be even more than Sniper Ghost Warrior 3's overall budget of PLN 40 million.

Back in 2017, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 was the second most expensive video game in the history of the Polish development scene, behind only CD Projekt's award-winning The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. Following the critically panned threequel's underwhelming sales, CI Games announced that it would scale back their next few titles — including 2019's sleeper hit Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts — but it looks like the Warsaw–based company is ready to take its third shot at the so-called "AAA" development with Lords of the Fallen 2.

As a reminder, CI Games' next big thing — the recently revealed Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts 2 — will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this fall, introducing a completely original gameplay mechanism. The first-person shooter's PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions will make their debut at a later date.
