Next-Gen Version of Rockstar's GRAND THEFT AUTO V Will Be Released in Second Half of 2021

Publisher Take-Two has released some exciting details on the recently revealed next-gen version of Rockstar Games' award-winning Grand Theft Auto V — the open-world game's second next-gen version, to be exact.

According to Take-Two's Q1 2021 report, the American company is planning to bring the 2013 title to "the new generation of consoles, including PlayStation 5, in the second half of calendar 2021." Although the beloved game's Xbox Series X port has not been announced yet, it's safe to say that it's also on the way.

Its new version will introduce "a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever" — and chances are that said features will be carried over to the PC edition.

It's worth remembering that Rockstar is also working on a standalone version of Grand Theft Auto Online that will be available for free exclusively for all PlayStation 5 fans during the first three months after launch.

In other GTAV-related news, the action-packed production has now sold over 135 million copies worldwide.

When a young street hustler, a retired bank robber and a terrifying psychopath find themselves entangled with some of the most frightening and deranged elements of the criminal underworld, the U.S. government and the entertainment industry, they must pull off a series of dangerous heists to survive in a ruthless city in which they can trust nobody, least of all each other.

Grand Theft Auto V is currently available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and the EGS); coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in the second half of calendar 2021.
